Emerald News:-Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced a major relief for consumers, saying fuel prices in Israel will be reduced by half a shekel per liter.
Netanyahu said he had reached an agreement with Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to lower fuel prices, as energy costs continue to rise in several parts of the world.
“While fuel prices are soaring around the world, we are ensuring they do not soar in Israel,” Netanyahu said.
The Israeli Prime Minister also highlighted the country’s electricity prices, saying they remain among the lowest in the Western world. He attributed this to the government’s efforts to develop Israel’s natural gas reservoirs and promote greater competition in electricity generation.
Netanyahu further claimed that Israel’s economy is breaking records, stressing that his government would continue to manage the economy responsibly.
The announcement comes amid continued pressure from rising global energy prices and is expected to provide some relief to Israeli motorists and consumers.
