Emerald News:-Duliajan: Punjab FC emerged champions of the 9th OIL INDIA Gold Cup Football Tournament 2026, defeating Oil India FC in a thrilling penalty shootout after the much-awaited final ended 1–1 following extra time at the Nehru Maidan Sports Complex in Duliajan.
The final witnessed an intense battle between the two teams. Oil India FC took the lead in the 33rd minute through Akrang Narzary (Jersey No. 15). Punjab FC responded strongly after the break, with Yendrembam Boby Singh (Jersey No. 25) finding the equaliser in the 61st minute.
With neither side able to break the deadlock during extra time, the match went into a penalty shootout, where Punjab FC held their nerve to lift the coveted Gold Cup. Oil India FC finished the tournament as runners-up.
Grand Closing Ceremony
The final was preceded by a colourful closing ceremony attended by several distinguished guests. Shri Terash Gowalla, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Shri Sanjay Verma, Resident Chief Executive, OIL, and Shri Taranga Gogoi, Hon’ble MLA, Naharkatia LAC, attended the ceremony as Guests of Honour, along with other OIL officials and special invitees.
The ceremony featured addresses by the dignitaries, followed by cultural performances by students of the Duliajan Club Music Academy and renowned singer Ms. Dipanwita Deka, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Best Goalkeeper: Navajyoti Ayan (Oil India FC)
Best Linkman: Aniket Yadav (Punjab FC)
Best Defender: Suraj Murmu (Punjab FC)
Best Player of the Tournament: Rituraj Mohan (Oil India FC)
The tournament concluded with the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where the champions, runners-up and outstanding individual performers were felicitated.
The 9th edition of the OIL INDIA Gold Cup once again celebrated the spirit of football, bringing together sporting excellence, teamwork, camaraderie and a passion for the beautiful game.
