Emerald News:-DIBRUGARH, ASSAM: Oil India Limited (OIL) continues to strengthen sports infrastructure and promote community development in Assam with the inauguration of the newly renovated Ground Floor Pavilion at Jalan Nagar Outdoor Stadium in Dibrugarh.
The pavilion was inaugurated by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India, and Shri Devajit Saikia, Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The event was attended by Shri Prasanta Phukan, MLA, Dibrugarh; Shri Taranga Gogoi, MLA, Naharkatia; Dr Ankur Baruah, Director (HR), OIL; Shri Sanjay Verma, Resident Chief
Executive, OIL; other company officials; and office bearers of the Dibrugarh District Sports Association (DDSA).
The renovation was carried out with financial assistance from Oil India Limited, reflecting the company’s commitment to developing sports facilities and encouraging local talent. The upgraded pavilion is expected to provide improved facilities for athletes, sports officials and enthusiasts, helping create a more supportive environment for sporting activities in the region. Through such initiatives, OIL continues to contribute to community development while supporting the growth of sports infrastructure in Assam. The upgraded facility marks another step towards building a stronger sporting ecosystem and creating better opportunities for emerging local talent.
